I chose to use purple as the accent around my apartment after being inspired by my comfy and elegant tufted couch with Swarovski crystal buttons. When you’re decorating your home, it’s nice to have one accent colour that runs throughout to bring a sense of cohesiveness from one room to the next.
Little purple accents like my framed Andy Warhol quotes and purple lampshade add a bit of punch to my otherwise neutral living room.
In the bathroom, it’s my purple shower curtain, rug, towels, and the little vase of lavender blossoms next to the sink. I travel a lot, so it’s important for me to come home to an environment that feels inviting and inspiring and that’s what I’ve created with the simple colour accents around my apartment.
It’s easy to do, just don’t go overboard – pick a shade you love and use it in little objects, throw pillows or artwork in your living space.
