Best Dressed From MET Ball 2011
The fashion world is abuzz, ladies and gents! And why? This past Monday, May 2nd, was the Costume Institute Gala, better known as the Met Ball, where stars, singers, and style icons alike dressed to impress. Hosted by the one and only Anna Wintour, the gala celebrates the opening of the Metropolitan Museum’s exhibit at the Costume Institute each year. This year, the Met Ball paid tribute to the memory of the late Alexander McQueen, one of the top designers of this century. The Metropolitan’s exhibit, entitled Savage Beauty, showcases the artistic wonders and highlights of McQueen’s 19-year career. While I can’t comment on the fabulous designs found in the exhibit (this will definitely be a “must see” on my next trip to NYC), I can comment on the fabulous designs I saw outside of it! Here’s my best dressed list from the 2011 Met Ball!
1. Eva Mendes looking oh-so-fab in a Stella McCartney dress and Fred Leighton Jewelry. I am loving the color and the whole look reminds me of Bianca Jagger. Rachel Zoe you worked your magic once again!
2. Ginnifer Goodwin rocked a custom-made Topshop dress. I need this dress! Only one word can discribe this gowns: S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G
3. Brooklyn Decker is the epitome of modern American chic in this Michael Kors. This dress has beautiful simple lines, shows just the right amount of skin and the color is so on trend!
4. Salma Hayek looked fabulous in this romantic blush dress by Alexander McQueen
5. I was counting on Sarah Jessica Parker to wear Alexander McQueen, and she did not disappoint. SJP is looking like a 60’s Goddess. LOVE LOVE LOVE
6. Let’s not forget the queen of fashion and the host of this fabulous event, Anna Wintour, looking fabulous in Chanel Haute Couture. I never seen her in embellishment or metallic, Great choices!
7. For the ultimate tribute to late designer Alexander McQueen you can count on close friend Daphne Guinness. Her Choice reflects McQueen dramatic avant-garde Vision. BRAVO!
