My Engagement : A Love Story

Engagement vintage ring - Serial Indulgence

Everything happened in one beautiful flash that there are still moments where I need to pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming because now, I am engaged to the most wonderful man in the world. The past year has been the best year of my life and it makes me smile to think that this is just the beginning. It is a rare thing to find, in this day and age, a true soul mate and a best friend.

John and I met 10 months ago, at a grocery store (yes, I know, very “Hollywood chick-flick”), and since then we’ve been inseparable. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a mate and as my perfect compliment, makes me feel complete.

The ring he proposed with is a family heirloom, a European-cut diamond that has been passed down from generation to generation. I am proud to be the next woman, and soon-to-be member of his family, to have been given the honour to wear it.

The proposal was very simple, and since I am a shy and private person, I couldn’t ask for better setting to “pop the question”. It was at home, (where else!?! … my favourite place in the world!), and he said to me the most beautiful things a girl wants to hear, got down on one knee and asked me the question I had been longing to hear: “Will you marry me?” After that, I remember a “Yes!”, a lot of tears and laughter and the thought that I was, not only the happiest, but the luckiest girl in the world. There is no doubt in my mind that this was the best day of my life.

As for the wedding, we haven’t set a date yet, but will start planning ASAP and I promise to keep you all posted on the exciting events to come!

xoxo
